The first things you notice when youbarrive in Sicily are: colors, scents and tastes. The colors of the sky, so blue, of the ground and of the flowers. The scent of the fish, of the vegetables and in general of the local food. For this reason the first morning in Sicily we went, after a very good breakfast with cannoli and ravioli with ricotta, to the market of the harbor . This has been our first “bite” to Sicily.

The second “bite” has been for the old city in Trapani and its sea. Walking along the small street and the seafront is a very good start for someone who has just landed in Sicily.

Anyway, as the most precious things are, the truly treasure of Trapani is Erice, a village from the Middle Age hidden on an hill of 751m slm. Here you can spend hours going around little streets that bring you towards churches, convents and castles, all of theme very evocative. A 5euro pass let you visit several sights and the money collected is used for the mainteinance of the places.

Back to Trapani, after our walk in Erice, we cooked, and enjoyed, the fish we bought in the morning…delicious!!! The menu was prawnswith tomatoes and wite wine, grilled squids and eggplants, and the …
