Sometimes, the time we spend here is so full and intense that when looking back at the end of a day or after a few days we are struck by the amount and by the variety of things we manage to do and see in just one day!!!

As usual, we started our day by taking a random road: at the end of it we found this small church and some nice ladies let us in and explained us it is a baptist church where about fifty people normally go. We were told (not only in this occasion, but several times) that, although Buddhism is the main religion here, there are many other creeds and all of them coexist quite peacefully 🙂

We keep seeing lines of monks of all ages here and there, and they all wear lovely colourful clothes. In this case, you can see a group of women monks, in pink.  As far as we understood, all the boys here undergo a “training” period in a monks community, like a kind of military service!

As we heard some kids singing, we got close to this school and teachers invited us to enter…

Giovanni caught everyone’s attention with a small english lesson, writing on the blackboard and captivating the kids, which were jumping around us but in the meanwhile hiding from us, as they were enthusiast but also pretty shy.

We obviously took pictures with the whole school 🙂

Introductions with a soldier. As we already said, they are very peaceful, sometimes even lazy, and at check points we are never asked anything nor checked.

These girls collect offers for a monastery. Here women are extremely beautiful, with stunning hair, skin and smiles!

As for me, I stand out for my ability to fall from the chair twice within thirty minutes, since the chair got stuck between the planks of the stilt-house where we had lunch.

We thought we were bored of stupas, but these lie in a position which make them worth visiting!

Paesaggio e colori si commentano da soli…

Lanscape and colours do not need to be explained…

…while this ladder, which would take us to the highest stupa, is severely closed to tourists, causing me great relief while making Giovanni desperate!!!

This monk welcomed us by putting an orange bracelet on our wrists and praying, then he showed us some old pictures of the place and even gave us two posters 🙂

This is a plain with more than 2000 Buddha statues!

And this is a public swimming pool, where people from the village get fresh after a burning hot day!

After having passed from this multicolour holy place…

…Ci siamo arrampicati per moooolti gradini…

We climbed over maaaanyyy steps…

…and reached this fort in order to enjoy the view in the light of sunset, before the evening rain started pouring.
